MICAH WAS AMAZING!!! It was me and my girlfriend's first time ever surfing and he made it an unforgettable experience. He was extremely accommodating, attentive, and kind. Micah is a wonderful teacher with great patience and knowledge. We had many great conversations and he made it very easy for us to learn/ made us feel very comfortable throughout the entire process. We had a very fun and exciting time, Micah was very entertaining and made sure we were happily enjoying ourselves. He even took the extra care and time to make sure we got enough footage to take home. We absolutely loved our lesson and will be hitting the waves again, thank you so much again Micah! 100/10 experience. 🙂

What an amazing experience. I was so nervous to have my two kids (8 & 7) surf in the water, but Mickey was such a pro and put me at ease. He made my kids feel so comfortable and most of all he made sure they had fun. I can really tell that he loves teaching and surfing. I HIGHLY recommend him for anyone who wants to have the best surfing experience for their kids. 100% this will go down as a core memory for me and my kids.

The absolute BEST!! My boyfriend and I did a lesson with Mickey and had an awesome time. My boyfriend had some experience and I had none, so I was really nervous. Mickey was able to balance giving both of us the instruction we needed. I honestly didn't think I'd be able to stand by the end of the lesson, so I was really pleasantly surprised at how well he taught us and how well I did. I would recommend these lessons to everyone. Mickey cares about his students and gives a personalized experience that you wouldn't get with a large group in bigger surf schools. He even took us to grab a bite after and shared the photos/videos for free. The price is competitive and you're getting so much more than you would with other surf schools. Thank you Mickey!!

The absolute BEST!! My girlfriend and I did a lesson with Mickey and had an awesome amazing super fantastic time! I haven't surfed in a few years and he helped me get my confidence back immediately! I've been surfing since I was 12 but I've never been this large before and I was worried I'd do nothing but wipe out for the entire lesson! Mickey got me up, Mickey showed me the joy that is surfing again, Mickey is the BEST! I could not ask for a better teacher!

The best day on Waikiki Beach—Mickey’s Surf School Thanks Micah and Mickey’s Surf School for our best day on Waikiki Beach! Our family of 6 (ages 18-49) had an amazing morning of group surfing lessons with Micah. He made the day fun, as we all learned to stand and ride the waves. He even filmed us with his GoPro, giving us a great video memory of our lesson! We cannot recommend Mickey’s Surf School enough—if you’re looking for a fun surfing lesson (from beginner to advanced), Micah is your guy! We can’t wait to come back and take another lesson!! Micah is a kind hearted human being with a true love for surfing. It is no wonder why he is well known and respected by people the local surfers. He is very knowledgeable about surfing, making him a great teacher. I went in not knowing anything about surfing and by the end of my lesson, I was able to catch a wave all on my own! Truly a patient teacher but gives positive feedback so you can learn how to surf properly I say he is a great teacher because he not only taught me but he also gave me a love for surfing. This was definitely the highlight of my trip, discovering a new hobby. Not only that but now I have a friend here in Hawaii, Micah. Truly, if you have ever wanted to try surfing, this is your sign to do so! You will have the best teacher in Oahu and for a great price!

Micah is a true professional! Patient and attentive to students of all ages! He tailors the experience to you and treats you like family!

This was our first surf lesson for our boys, ages 9 and 13. We found Mickey on Yelp and couldn't be more impressed. He was patient and a fantastic instructor. We plan to hire him one or two more times during this trip since our boys had so much fun. We were so impressed that both of our boys were able to get up surfing during their first session and their skills continued to progress! Thanks Mickey!

I've been to Hawaii before and done other surf lessons, and Micah's was BY FAR the most informative and unforgettable. He booked my 90 minute private lesson last minute and took the time to learn my current physical activity regimen and to teach me on the beach how to stand up on the board in a way that worked for me and my own capabilities. Once we got in the water, he taught me about how to judge good waves, surfer etiquette, and was the most popular person in the water! He paddled me out each time so I didn't get tired too soon. After his advice, I was able to get up myself multiple times (never been able to do that before) and as a young woman on my own, I felt so safe and comfortable the entire time. I even got great pics/videos. I cannot recommend this company enough, worth every penny and more.

Mickey is an amazing instructor! He takes his time explaining everything so well and making sure you understand what you're doing before you get out in the water. Super friendly and helpful to families watching too. We will definitely be back to take another lesson, and absolutely recommend Mickey to all of our friends.

Mickey is the best teacher I could have had for my first surfing session. He got me up and down on the board safely on my very first try! Mickey's teachings were always on point, he explains why certain aspects will work and why some don't. He sets you up for good habits of practice that make surfing a breeze. And, he connects it all back to the way of the land, which I love. So many surfers knew of Mickey because he was the one who taught them! If you choose Mickey, just know you're in great hands. I will definitely be sending more people his way. Mahalo Mickey for everything you have taught me, can't wait to be back on the waves again!

Saw Mickey on the beach this morning setting up. We were watching him yesterday giving surf lessons to other people. I asked him about lessons for my son. We got lucky and he was able to give my husband and son lessons right then and there. Mickey was the best, very knowledgeable and friendly. He gave my husband and son lots of good tips. My son had lessons yesterday with a different company. He said he didn't learn much and wanted a professional surfer. So today I got lucky and was able to get my husband and son lessons with Mickey. I highly recommend Mickey. If you're lucky enough to get him as an instructor. He books up really fast

This was my first time doing surf lessons as well as our two kids 8 & 10. Mike is an amazing instructor and is very knowledgeable and patient. He took great photos and videos of our trip in Waikiki. Mickey is a fantastic surf instructor! The day before my lesson, he sent me a few tips to prepare for the day that made my first time surfing seamless. I never thought I would be able to stand on a surf board, but the tips he sent over, the practice drills on the beach, and his guidance with when to paddle and where to stand on your board resulted in me standing on my board on THE FIRST TRY. I went back for surf lessons 2 more times because he was so helpful in his coaching. He also helped record a GoPro video and it was awesome to have my first run at surfing be documented so closely. I can't recommend him enough for your surf lessons at Waikiki!

Mickey took my two 8 year old boys for a surf lesson, he started with the key instructions on the beach and focused on safety first. once he took them out to surf he stayed close the entire time, helping them paddle to the surf and surfing alongside with them. they had an absolute blast with Mickey, he is fantastic with kids and more importantly keeps them safe while allowing them to thrive! Even got special videos as memories forever! 10/10

What a let down Having reached out to this company for over 6 months, when I finally booked they just couldn't be bothered to follow up just out of common courtesy. Nothing like flying half way across the world to be ignore.

I've taken a few lessons from Micah, and he's fantastic. He gives clear instruction about safety before heading into the water, makes sure you have foundational knowledge about where you should be on the board and about how to "pop" up (in my case, step up), and then helps you put it into practice on the waves. Emphasis on the swimming technique (90% of surfing is swimming on your board!), where you want to be in the water on a given day, and wave-spotting / timing - all things that set me up to catch waves by myself later in the trip! If you're looking for a true surf instructor, not just someone to push you into waves for an Instagram capture - Micah is it, the real deal. (But he will get your picture for you as you're riding the wave he helped you catch.)
